Get Ready for the Brand-New 2025 Nissan LEAF
Can you believe that it’s been 15 years since the first Nissan LEAF became an EV trailblazer? Fast forward and there’ll soon be a brand-new 2025 LEAF in the showroom at Woodfield Nissan. What do you need to know about the new arrival?
Price
The LEAF, the first Nissan EV, has always been a car for the people and the 2025 version is as affordable as ever. It’ll start at $28,140 before incentives, which is the same cost as the 2024 model.
Design
On the design front, the LEAF has an upgraded exterior design. Look for a restyled front grille, headlights, and bumper molding. Inside, you’ll still get that roomy cabin with up to 30 ft.³ of available cargo space. There is a convenient 60/40 fold-down rear seat split and LEAF should comfortably fit five people.
The LEAF SV PLUS now has 17-inch alloy wheels, with LED headlights, fog lights and a steering wheel wrapped in leather.
Infotainment
Turning to technology, you’ll get the NissanConnect® infotainment with an 8-inch display. This will allow you to run Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, and SiriusXM®. The SV PLUS has door-to-door navigation capability too.
Charging Tech
When it’s time to charge your LEAF, you can set the desired charging schedule using the on-board timer. You’ll also be able to preheat or cool the cabin using the HVAC timer. And for those cold Illinois winters, take advantage of the heated front seats and steering wheel.
Range and Charging
The LEAF S has a 40-kWh battery with an estimated range of up to 140 miles. The SV PLUS has a 60-kWh battery and the EPA estimated range is 212 miles. You can charge the LEAF S up to 80% in 40 minutes using the quick charge port. It’ll take up the 60 minutes to do the same thing in the SV PLUS.
Battery Warranty
It’s good to know that every LEAF comes with a limited lithium-ion battery warranty. This will cover defects in workmanship or materials for 100,000 miles or eight years of use.
Safety on the Road
Nissan pays a lot of attention to safety on the road and it’s good to know that every LEAF has Nissan SafetyShield® 360. This includes blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. SV PLUS also has other driver assistance aids such as Intelligent Cruise Control with hands-on steering assistance, and Intelligent Around View® Monitors.
One Pedal Driving
Don’t forget that this Nissan electric car features convenient one-pedal driving. This allows you to accelerate or decelerate with the same pedal. When you lift off the accelerator pedal this will automatically mimic a step on the brake pedal. It allows the car to slow down and sometimes, come to a complete stop.
