Nissan Warning Lights and Their Meanings
Monday, November 12th, 2018There is no doubt that vehicles have made it easier to get from point A to point B. But what happens when an unfamiliar light appears on your vehicle’s dashboard before you arrive at your destination? Not only is it extremely beneficial for drivers to understand what the different symbols on their vehicle’s dashboard means, but to also understand what the color of the symbol indicates. Below is a list of Nissan’s warning lights and their meanings.
Blue, White and/or green
Symbols on your vehicle’s dashboard can appear as blue, white or green depending on the year your vehicle was produced. Symbols that appear in these colors indicate that a common feature is turned on, and functions as a reminder to drivers to turn it off. Common features include turn signals, cruise control and headlights.
Yellow
Symbols that appear with a yellow light indicates that although there is a malfunction in the vehicle, it is not dangerous for drivers to operate it. For example, the appearance of a yellow ABS symbol indicates that a safety system was triggered, but drivers should operate their vehicle more carefully.
Red
Red lights indicate that something is not only wrong with your vehicle, but that it can also be dangerous for drivers to continue operating it. When red symbols appear on the dashboard, drivers should immediately pull over and check their vehicle’s manual to figure out how to fix the dangerous issue.
It is necessary for drivers to understand the meaning behind the lights and symbols that appear on their dashboard. Not only does it allow drivers to continuously maintain their vehicle’s condition, but it also gives insight into potentially dangerous operating situations for drivers.

Wednesday, September 26th, 2018The new version of Nissan’s top-selling vehicle is now available at Hoffman Estates Nissan dealer lots: The Nissan Rogue Sport reigns supreme as the top-selling passenger vehicle in America and now the 2018 model is here and ready for you.
“The new Rogue Sport is a perfect addition to the red hot Rogue lineup,” Michael Bunce, vice president of product planning for Nissan North America Inc., said in a recent statement. “With Rogue Sport’s slightly smaller dimensions and sporty maneuverability, it’s ideal for singles or couples without kids–or empty nesters–who want a sportier vehicle and can live with a little less cargo capacity than the current Rogue offers.”
The Rogue Sport may be slightly scaled down in size, but it more than makes up for its dimensions with its larger-than-life capabilities. A favorite among Nissan dealers, fans, critics, and the staff at Woodfield Nissan, the new Nissan Rogue Sport’s compact size may be just what you’re looking for. The vehicle is one foot shorter and five inches lower than the Rogue and features a slightly smaller passenger cabin–96 cubic feet of volume in the Sport compared to 106 cubic feet for the standard Rogue.
“It gives consumers another option,” Bunce said. “If they think the Rogue is just a little too big for them, often they get into the Rogue Sport and it’s just perfect.”
The vehicle’s smaller size is certainly an advantage when it comes to powertrain capabilities–out of all of our current Nissan models for sale, the Nissan Rogue Sport is the zippiest. The vehicle utilizes a smaller four-cylinder engine for a more efficient output. The Sport comes standard with a 2.0-liter 141-horsepower engine compared to the 2.5-liter 170-horsepower four-cylinder in the Rogue. The Sport is available with either front- or all-wheel drive.
Noted for its maneuverability and smooth ride, the Nissan Rogue Sport is the perfect marriage of style and compact power. But the vehicle also comes with a range of awesome tech and safety enhancements, including NissanConnect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, a Standard Motion-Activated Liftgate, standard Intelligent Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Lane Intervention, and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection.
The new Rogue Sport is even available with a fresh new exterior package: The Midnight Edition Package. Opt for this special appearance package and you’ll get black outside mirror caps, black front and rear fascia accents, a black V-motion grille, black roof rails, black 17-inch SV aluminum alloy wheels and more.
Visit us at Woodfield Nissan today to check out the 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport or to view our current 2019 Nissan cars for sale. Take the new Rogue Sport out for a test drive while new models are still available on our lot.
2019 Nissan 370Z Reviews
Thursday, August 23rd, 2018The 2019 Nissan 370Z is in its 10th year of production. This exciting and intense performance vehicle has been around for a while. Learn about what changes are happening for 2019, and see some reviews about the 2019 Nissan 370Z below.
There are a few changes on the 2019 Nissan 370Z for this model year. There is a new “Heritage Edition” package that offers you two new colors. The new colors are Pearl White and Deep Blue Pearl, and the Heritage Edition package also offers you decals, black outside mirrors, and yellow interior trim.
As for what is under the hood, that hasn’t really changed. The 2019 Nissan 370Z is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 engine. This engine produces 332-horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque on all the trims except the NISMO trim. On the NISMO, you get 350-horsepower and 276 pound-feet of torque. The 2019 Nissan 370Z gives you an exciting and fun driving experience, so don’t miss out on your opportunity to upgrade. Also, learn more about what critics are saying about the 2019 Nissan 370Z below.
Check Out What People Are Saying About the 2019 Nissan 370Z
Road Show says, “Honestly, it’s refreshing to drive a car like the Nissan 370Z today. There’s no touchscreen interface or center console controller. There aren’t any flashing lights or audible beeps. It’s a simple and honest sports car that still packs impressive performance chops and asks the driver to drive.”
According to Edmunds, “No matter what version you get, the Z is about balancing handling with power. You sit low so that you can feel the road. The suspension is appropriately stiff but helps the car to corner flat with minimal brake dive. The steering is communicative and direct, and the engine is torquey.”
Cars.com has this to say, “For 2019, Nissan has slightly updated its three 370Z models — including the coupe, NISMO coupe and roadster — with minor feature additions and a couple of new colors added to the mix. The best part? Starting prices for each of the models is unchanged for the new model year.”

The Nissan Kicks vs. Kia Soul
Thursday, July 19th, 2018If you are looking into a subcompact crossover vehicle, you probably have the Nissan Kicks and the Kia Soul on your list to check out. We are going to help you determine which is better for you by doing a comparison below. We will take a look at the fuel efficiency, the price, and more, on each of these vehicles, so we can help you determine which one is the best for you.
Motor Trend compares the miles per gallon of these two vehicles, “With just 125 hp and a low curb weight, the 2018 Nissan Kicks is one of the most efficient sub-$25,000 cars available today. With an EPA rating of 31/36 mpg city/highway, it easily beats all three engines of the Kia Soul (besides the electric option).”
When you take a look at the safety features of these two vehicles, they both have some good safety to offer. The Nissan Kicks offers you some good safety technology, like automatic emergency braking, on every Nissan Kicks. If you take a look at the safety features on the Kia Soul, you have to upgrade quite a bit to get features like automatic emergency braking, but the Kia Soul does have a five-start NHTSA safety rating.
Motor Trend also discusses a price comparison of both of these vehicles. Motor Trend writes, “This is a close one, but we’ll give the nod to the Nissan. For $18,965, the base Kicks S includes automatic emergency braking, a rearview camera, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen. With the Kia, start by asking yourself whether you’re ready to buy a new car in 2018 without a rearview camera. If not, a base-model Soul with an automatic transmission and a rearview camera comes with the Convenience package that also adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen display. For that content—and, of course, Kia’s 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty—the MSRP is $19,895.”
Overall, we think the Nissan Kicks wins in this car comparison. You can check out the Nissan Kicks, and more vehicles like it at Woodfield Nissan.

Electric Nissan Van
Friday, May 25th, 2018Nissan has long been working to make its operations and vehicles more eco-friendly. This includes the designing and building of all-electric vehicles. Nissan first introduced the all-electric Nissan Leaf, but they are expanding their lineup of electric vehicles. Nissan now has an all-electric van for those that need a bigger cargo capacity, and this new van now has a new battery for extended driving range.
Automotive World tells us, “The Nissan e-NV200 features a new 40 kilowatt-hour battery, which gives the vehicle a range of 300 kilometers under Japan’s JC08 standard. It combines excellent load capacity and a driver-friendly cabin with brisk acceleration and a superior quietness that only a pure electric vehicle can offer.”
The Nissan e-NV200 is a great option for a city business vehicle. It can give you seating for up to seven as well as good cargo capacity. This vehicle also has Quick Charge Capability, so you can get your battery charged in about an hour or less. It is a great work vehicle. Let’s find out more below!
According to Automotive World, “The new e-NV200 can also operate as a mobile power storage unit. The vehicle’s Power Plug, a 100-volt outlet, can provide electricity for tools and equipment. With the optional EV Power Station installed, the Nissan e-NV200 can even supply electricity to offices and shops and serve as a backup power source during blackouts and emergencies.”
The e-NV200 can be a smart mobile office for your business. From carrying passengers and cargo with ease to providing electricity for tools and equipment, this is a great option to help you work smarter. Also, with the new 40 kilowatt-hour battery, this vehicle has a longer range than ever.
This vehicle isn’t available in the United States yet, but it could be soon. This could be a great option for your business to reduce pollution and help you get your work done.

2018 Energy Star Partner of the Year
Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018Nissan is always making strides to be energy efficient and help out the environment. From creating all-electric vehicles like the Nissan Leaf to using efficient technologies like LED lighting, Nissan is making their vehicles more eco-friendly. Nissan is also making their operations eco-friendlier. Because of this, the US Environmental Protection Agency is giving Nissan the 2018 Energy Star Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award.
Globe Newswire explains the award further, “The 2018 Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Awards are bestowed upon companies and other organizations demonstrating continued leadership in energy efficiency and commitment to the ENERGY STAR program. Winners hail from small, family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 organizations – representing energy-efficient products, services, new homes, and buildings in the commercial, industrial and public sectors.”
However, this isn’t the first year the EPA has recognized Nissan’s efforts. This is the seventh consecutive year that the EPA has awarded Nissan for their commitment to improving energy management.
What has Nissan done to receive this energy star award? This award goes to companies that make their operations more energy efficient, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and educate about energy.
According to Globe Newswire, “Nissan’s efforts to reduce energy usage include switching to more efficient technologies like LED lighting, engaging all employees in energy management, and including energy efficiency in design, such as an environmentally friendly paint process that has cut energy usage by more than 30%.”
If environmental issues are important to you, take notice of the steps Nissan has taken to improve its vehicles and operations to make them more energy efficient. You can also upgrade to a Nissan and help the environment out as well. The Nissan Leaf is an all-electric vehicle, so it is not gasoline-powered. It helps reduce the harmful emissions produced by vehicles.

Nissan Altima Surprises at Auto Show
Friday, April 27th, 2018The Altima is one of Nissan’s most popular vehicles, and we definitely understand why. This sedan offers you a great driving experience, a comfortable and stylish space, and some great technology to keep you connected. The next-generation Nissan Altima is coming your way soon. What do we know about the next-gen Altima?
This vehicle was shown at the New York Auto Show on March 28. We don’t know all the details about this all-new 2019 Altima, but Nissan has let a few things slip about this vehicle. Check out some of the things we know so far below.
What We Can Look Forward To
According to Road Show, “During a recording of Autoline After Hours, a weekly auto industry-focused internet show, Nissan’s Christopher Reed alluded to the sixth-generation Altima receiving an important new feature in its arsenal: all-wheel drive. Reed, who is vice president of components engineering at Nissan Technical Center North America, was actually on Thursday’s show to talk about the 2018 Leaf EV.”
Reed let slip what may be a great feature on the Altima, but other than all-wheel drive, what can we find on this vehicle?
Features for the New Nissan Altima
Road Show discusses some of the possible features on the next-generation Nissan Altima, “Along with available AWD and a host of new safety and convenience features, we’re expecting for the new Altima to gain markedly more aggressive styling, likely influenced by Nissan’s Vmotion 2.0 concept a show car that debuted at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show.”
The next-gen Nissan Altima seems like it is something to be pretty excited about. We will keep you updated about the new Altima, and we will let you know when we have it in stock. Nissan Rogue: A Smart SUV at an Affordable Cost
Wednesday, April 25th, 2018The Nissan Rogue is a popular SUV. In fact, it is Nissan’s best-selling vehicle in America. It is an affordable vehicle with some great space and some great features. Want to know why people are loving the Nissan Rogue? Find out more below!
The LA Times weighs in on the 2018 Rogue, “Nissan’s 2018 Rogue is a sprightly, affordable SUV that has the option of the company’s ProPilot Assist driving system. It’s the first Nissan vehicle to offer the program, which will also be available in the 2018 Leaf. That means it’s one of the least expensive SUVs on the market with adaptive cruise control, steering assist, braking assist and warnings for lane straying, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian detection.”
What’s the Cost?
As the LA Times said above, the Nissan Rogue is a very affordable SUV. This vehicle comes in at a starting price of $25,380, and you get a lot for your money with this vehicle.
The 2018 Rogue has features like the above listed safety features as well as traction control, Siri “Eyes Free” voice command system, LED headlights and more. In the 2018 Rogue, you also get the ProPilot system. What is this system? Let’s find out!
The LA Times explains, “ProPilot functions like a smart, adaptive cruise control. It will maintain freeway speed and keep a safe distance between other cars, as on most similar systems. But it will also do most of the steering, asking only that the driver’s hands be on the wheel at all times and nudge the steering periodically, when prompted, so the system knows the driver is alert.”
As you can see, this is a technologically advanced vehicle. It comes with a lot of great features, and the price tag is very affordable. The 2018 Rogue also gives you a good amount of power and performance. The base-level Rogue gives you a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder gas engine that gives you 170-horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque.
